The mechanics work on cars and pickups as well as heavy equipment such as sweepers, dump trucks, graders, backhoes, and even fire engines. There are approximately 195 pieces of equipment throughout the city. They also do specialized welding and fabrication projects for all the various city departments as the need arises such as building light poles, welding park benches, sewer grates and manholes.
We also track all fuel usage, parts and labor for maintaining of the city fleet. The Central Garage plays a big part in evaluating equipment for the city's replacement schedule.
