Residents are advised that the Wapello County Landfill is closing immediately today Wednesday February 12, 2020 due to a methane issue. Emergency personnel and Fire crews are on the scene. Once the issue is resolved the Landfill will re-open tentatively tomorrow Thursday February 13, 2020.
Further news will be released as it becomes available. There is no immediate danger to the public.
