Park Shelters
The Parks & Recreation Department has shelters and park areas available for rent from April through September each year. Reservations may be made starting the first business day of each new year, except the Jimmy Jones Pavilion and the Ottumwa Park Rodeo Area, which may be reserved one year in advance. To reserve, call (641) 682-7873 or stop by the Parks and Recreation Department office at the Beach Ottumwa, 101 Church Street in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Shelters and park areas available for rent are Ottumwa Park Jimmy Jones Pavilion, Rodeo Area & Octagon Shelter, Sycamore Park Shelter, Memorial Park Shelter & Cabin, Wildwood Park Shelters #1, 2 and 3, Foster Park Shelter, Union Park Shelter and Central Park. The following guidelines apply to shelter reservations:
- Daily rental for the Jimmy Jones Pavilion is $100 per day, plus a $100 damage deposit.
- Daily rental for the Ottumwa Park Rodeo Area is $150 per day, plus a $100 damage deposit.
- Daily rental for the Sycamore Park Shelter is $50 per day, plus a $50 damage deposit.
- Daily rental for the remainder of the shelters and park areas is $35 per day; no damage deposit required.
- Damage deposits will be returned if the area is cleaned and no damage to the shelter house or surrounding area is noticed.
- Activities and functions under the Parks Department will have priority.
- Reservations must be paid for and Park Usage Application must be completed when booked.
- Weekend rentals must be made by 11:00 AM on the Thursday before the event.
- Shelters not listed on this page are for drop in use only and are not available for reservations.
- Any misuse or abuse of shelter or any other park grounds will lead to immediate dismissal of reservation rights.
